Jared Higgins is a Principal and Team Leader for Mechanical Engineering. He is a leader in both mechanical systems design and energy services, which includes energy modeling, building commissioning, and energy policy and codes.

Through his expertise, Jared initiated the Energy Services Group within PSC to begin providing these services as well as assist with regional education in the trend of energy policy, energy codes, and the role that Net Zero building design will have in the very near future. Jared is an advocate of the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE) and the advancement of energy awareness. He initiated the local West Texas Chapter and served as the inaugural president. Currently, he is serving as the national vice president of the association. Jared writes a monthly column on energy modeling for the American Society of Heating Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers journal. He also has articles published in the Journal of Energy Engineering, and in Strategic Planning for Energy and the Environment.

Jared was a member of the Department of Defense Education Activity’s energy and sustainability committee that drafted the energy and commissioning guidelines for future projects. In 2011, Jared was chartered as a Legend in Energy and in 2012 was named the Young Energy Engineer of the Year for Region IV, both by the Association of Energy Engineers. In 2014 Jared was named to Building Design + Construction Magazine’s 40 Under 40 professionals in the design and construction industry as well as CFE Media’s Engineering Leaders Under 40. The Lubbock Chamber of Commerce also named Jared as one of the 20 under 40 young professionals of Greater Lubbock.
