PSC is a multidisciplinary firm that provides comprehensive architectural and engineering design services for a multitude of projects in government, commercial and institutional sectors – including K-12 and higher education, public works, environmental, infrastructure, transportation, healthcare and church facilities. PSC’s internal resources include design professionals in architecture, civil engineering, interior design, landscape architecture, MEP engineering and structural engineering.
Where We’ve Been
To understand our work ethic, go back to 1945. Gordon Parkhill and Red Smith graduated in 1924 from Texas A&M University. Clarence Cooper and Parkhill worked together at another firm. The three then formed a partnership after World War II and established a civil engineering firm in Lubbock, Texas. They promptly went to work helping surrounding communities meet the demands of rapid development, which occurred after the war. Core services in municipal infrastructure became a mainstay of the firm.
Over the next 70 years, the legacy of Gordon Parkhill, Marlin Smith and Clarence Cooper lived on as their firm expanded to serve public- and private-sector clients throughout Texas and neighboring states. Today, PSC provides end-to-end services in government, institutional, commercial architecture and civil engineering. In 2015 PSC was among the top 200 design firms in the Engineering News-Record (ENR) 500.
Where We’re Going
Because we recruit the most talented and tenacious people, we’ve earned a reputation for an entrepreneurial approach that doesn’t quit until the problem is resolved. We refuse to accept a cookie-cutter design when a creative solution would be a better value. The proof is in our portfolio.
PSC has consistently ranked in the Top 500 Design Firms compiled by ENR, and was among the top three multidiscipline A/E firms voted best place to work by CE News. This industry recognition reinforces our determination to hire the best people and put them on the most challenging projects.
